most pieces are
scattered, continued
Adam unravels in the halls
of the "strolling sad",
noting the collective demise
of all in the weary grips
of education. No hope remains,
he believes, not for anyone:
to graduate is to join the
ranks of a dehumanized, self-abusing
culture; to drop out would
be even worse.
In the end, his only salvation,
the only gift he feels he
can offer humanity and the
god of his conscience is to
rid the world of evil.
In Adam's words are revealed
the social, spiritual and
cultural influences that lead
him to do unspeakable damage
to his peers, his school,
his god, his country and himself.
